Guadalupe Castaneda

HARGILL- Guadalupe Castaneda, 77, died Thursday, December 13, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones.
Lupe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and provider. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. You could often find him on his tractor out in the brush country. He enjoyed playing and talking about baseball, fishing and hunting. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuela and Blas Castaneda Sr.; and a sister, Maria Dominguez.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Hermelinda Castaneda of Hargill; four sons, Alfredo (Ida Lee) Castaneda of Edinburg, Adan (Marissa) Castaneda of Arlington, Aaron Castaneda of Hargill, Adolfo Castaneda of Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, Belia (Juan Antonio Jr.) Cerda of Mission, Nora (Rodney) Kereliuk of Dublin, Ohio, Beatrice (Tim) Jimenez of Donna; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Blas Castaneda Jr. of New Mexico; and a sister, Corina Olivarez of Hargill.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 6:45 p.m. prayer service and a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz in Hargill.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
