RENE L. CASTELLANOS SR.
EDINBURG – Rene L. Castellanos Sr., 85, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at his residence in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Refugio Castellanos and Hilaria Leal; sister, Maria Belia C. Barrera.
Mr. Castellanos is survived by his wife, Elida A. Castellanos; six children, Rosemary (Joe) Mireles, Rene (Leigh) Castellanos Jr., Rosalinda Castellanos, Refugio Castellanos II, Rosalie (Joey) Ornelas, Robert Castellanos; nine grandchildren; and two cousins, Saida Castellanos Saucedo and Jose Castellanos.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
