PHARR – Aurora H. Castillo, 88, went home to the Lord Friday, July 3, 2020, in Edinburg.
Born in Gregory, TX, Aurora lived in Pharr for most of her life and was a member at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hilario Castillo Sr.; and two sons, Raul and Ruben Castillo.
Aurora is survived four children, Jose (Esmeralda) Castillo of Pharr, Hilario (Teresa) Castillo Jr. of Edinburg, Elva C. (Francisco +) De La Rosa of Dallas, Mary Alice C. (Ruben) Garces of Austin; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Castillo; nine grandchildren, Jose De La Rosa, Daniel Anthony Castillo, Benjamin De La Rosa, Jessica De La Rosa-Juarez, Michelle Garces-Alaniz, Rachel Ann Castillo-Flores, Laurie K. Castillo-Figueroa, Selena De La Rosa-Wells, Ruben Garces Jr.; 28 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Hilario, Frankie, Gaby, Kyara, Calista, Kristian, Jasmin, Anthony III, Renesmee, Hanny, Robby, Hector Jr., Robert, Erin, Robert, Joseph, Jacob, Toni, Zyla, Michael, Dominique, Kane, Ruben III, Isabella, Daniel, Briana, Isaiah; eight great-great-grandchildren, Maddie, Miles, Marcus, Aaliyah, Lorenzo, Roman, Andrew, Stevie; a sister, Lisa Martinez; and a brother, Trinidad Herrera.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
