CARMEN Z. CASTILLO
PHARR – Carmen Z. Castillo, 86, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. Castillo was born in Pharr and had lived there most of her life. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Abundio and Maxima Zamarripa, two brothers, Jesus Zamarripa, Agustin Zamarripa; and a sister, Maria Elvira Garces.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Refugio Castillo of Pharr; four children, Erasmo (Deanna) Castillo of Edinburg, Ramiro (Manuela) Castillo, Refugio (Noemi) Castillo Jr., both of Pharr, Maria Esmelda (Lonnie) Borden of Cleburne, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nine siblings, Juana Zamarripa, Rosa Zamarripa, Raul Zamarripa, Jose Zamarripa, Abundio Zamarripa, Roberto Zamarripa, Ruben Zamarripa, all of Pharr, Ernesto Zamarripa of Mercedes, Erasmo Zamarripa of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
