EDINBURG – Maria L. Castro, 81, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in San Marcos, Mrs. Castro had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Gonzalez; and two sisters, Elvira Lara and Manuela Gaytan.
Mrs. Castro is survived by four children, Jose T. (Odilia) Gonzalez, Cruz G. (+Roberto) Martinez, both of Edinburg, Andrea (Manuel) Miranda of Alamo, Veronica (Maximo) Pena of Edinburg; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
