SAN JUAN - Arturo C. Cavazos, 83, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence in San Juan.
Born in Burgos, Tamps., Mexico, Mr. Cavazos had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by a son, Mario Alberto Cavazos.
Mr. Cavazos is survived by his wife, Josefina Cavazos of San Juan; four children, Maria (Israel) Cano of San Antonio, Texas, Corina (Felipe) Saenz of McAllen, Arturo (Bertha) Cavazos, Jr. of San Juan and Arnoldo Cavazos of Bakersfield, California; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roberto Cavazos, Jesus Cavazos, Seledino Cavazos; and three sisters, Elvira Cavazos, Maruca Valdivia and Dolores De La Rosa.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, June 16, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
