REBECCA CISNEROS JASSO
EDINBURG - Rebecca Cisneros Jasso, 64, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 5, 2016, surrounded by her family at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. After her courageous fight with cancer. She fought with dignity, grace, and an unwavering faith until the end. She was a witness of mercy and love her entire life. She was an example of forgiveness. She was a hardworking woman grounded in the finest of character in truth, honesty, love, care, and humility. Becky was born on January 13th 1952 in Raymondville, Texas to Raul and Consuelo Cisneros.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raul and Consuelo Cisneros.
Becky married Judge Homero Jasso, Sr. in 1986 bringing two families together, her six children, Eddie Johnson of McAllen, Homer (Belinda) Jasso, Jr. of Edinburg, Lori Johnson , Jessica (Armando) Gutierrez, both of McAllen, Laura Jasso, Monica (Ben Sandoval, Jr.) Jasso, both of Edinburg and together they had her seventh child, Robby Jasso of McAllen; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Eva, Olivia, Aiden, Marco, Matthew, Miranda, Diego; five siblings, Raul "Coy" (Beatriz) Cisneros, Robert "Bobby" (+Loida) Cisneros, Rodolfo "Rudy" (Belkys) Cisneros, Rosalva "Rose" (Juan) Gonzalez and Ruby (Bruce) Casteel; and her honorary sister, Juanita Pedraza. While working at Dillards, Becky was respected by her co-workers for her ability to lead, together they set many sales records. In addition, she was helping her husband, Homer begin their family owned restaurant, Don Pepe's. What started out in Pharr in a quaint rented space eventually became what it is today in McAllen through the perseverance and hard work of Homer, Becky and all their family. One could often find Becky either washing dishes in the back or even helping to make tortillas. She loved laughing with her staff and they became her second family.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Baptist Temple Church, 2001 Trenton Rd. in McAllen. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Baptist Temple Church. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Pallbearers will be Eddie Johnson, Homer Jasso Jr., Robby Jasso, Marco Jasso, Matthew Jasso, Saul Ortega, Arturo Ortega, Jonathan Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Cisneros, Bobby Cisneros and Rudy Cisneros.
Becky had a passion for her family, and a passion for success. She often said she worked to provide for her kids, she truly was a woman who sacrificed everything for her loved ones. Becky will be dearly missed and has left a space in our hearts that can never be filled. Her final words were "Be good to each other Praise God almighty".
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
