AGUSTINA M. "TINA" CONTRERAS
ALAMO - Agustina M. "Tina" Contreras, 82, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at her residence in Alamo.
Mrs. Contreras was born in Sinton, Texas and had lived in Alamo all of her life. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Erasmo "Eddie" Contreras; a son, Erasmo "Eddie" Contreras, Jr.; a daughter, Irma Nora Contreras Gil; her parents, Zacarias and Leocadia Moncivais; three brothers, Thomas Moncivais, Jesus Moncivais, Sixto Moncivais; and two sisters, Maria Vasquez and Cruz Romero.
Mrs. Contreras is survived by two sons, Judge Bobby (Barbara) Contreras, Carlos "Charlie" (Yvette) Contreras, both of Alamo; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Garcia, of Austin, Texas, Benita del Bosque, of Alamo; a brother, Jose Moncivais, of Alamo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held Friday, February 20, 2009. Visitation will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 21, 2009, followed by a 4 pm funeral service at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Pallbearers will be Jeff Contreras, Eddie Contreras, Leonardo Moncivais, Arnoldo Moncivais, Tommy Moncivais and Luis Serna. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
