IMELDA CONTRERAS ALAMO – Imelda Contreras, 40, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Life Care South in McAllen. Born in McAllen, she had lived in Alamo most of her life. Imelda is survived by her mother, Maria Contreras of Alamo; eight siblings, Lino (Mari) Contreras, Isabel Fuentes, both of Mission; Elena Contreras, Delia Mc Donald, Eva (Joe) Mendoza, Jesus Contreras, Jr., all of Dallas, TX, Jaime Contreras, of Alamo, and Lupita (Chris) Garces of Edinburg; eight nephews and six nieces. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
