Martin R. Contreras

MARTIN R. CONTRERAS PHARR – Martin R. Contreras, 64, died Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Pax Villa Hospice in McAllen. Born and raised in Edinburg, Mr. Contreras had lived in Pharr 31 years. He was employed by AEP, and was a member of the McAllen Bass Anglers Club. He is preceded in death by his father, Ubaldo Contreras. Martin is survived by his wife, Elva Garza Contreras of Humble; his three daughters, Mara Mirza of Humble, Marina Melinda and Marisol Marlynda , both of Pharr; three grandsons, Jarrett Mattison Almond, Adam Ly Rosales, Ethan Daniel Luna; his mother, Maria Guadalupe Contreras of Edinburg; six brothers, Leo (Janie) Contreras, Mike Contreras, Lorenzo (Terry) Contreras, Ubaldo (Mary) Contreras, Jr., Ricardo Contreras, Fernando Contreras, all of Edinburg; four sisters, Mary (Jesse) Rodriguez of Mission, Martha (Ruben) Becerra of San Carlos, Amalia Contreras, Ester Contreras and son, Andres, all of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan
