SAN JUAN - Pedro Contreras, 85, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at his residence in San Juan.
Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Mr. Contreras had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jose Vidal Contreras; a grandson, Eduardo Vidal Suarez; his parents, Nicolas and Natalia Contreras; and a brother, Domingo Contreras.
Mr. Contreras is survived by his wife, Maria F. Contreras; 13 children, Ricardo Contreras, Nicolasa (Santos) Palomo, Josefina (Eduardo) Suarez, Jose Luis (Berta A.) Contreras, Yolanda (Jose) Castillo, Alejandra (Javier) Parra, Eloisa (Roy) Fernandez, Flory (Juan Manuel) Vazquez, Mercedes (Fernando) Hernandez, Natalia (Miguel) Dominguez, Lucy (Raul) Zagal, Koko (Fred) Varela and Abel Contreras; two sisters, Emilia Contreras De Cervantes, Joaquina De La Torre; four brothers, Cecilio, Manuel, Aurelio and Justino Contreras; 35 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary, today, May 2, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
