PHARR - Celia R. Corona, 86, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
Born in San Isidro, Mrs. Corona was formerly of Pharr and Rio Grande City. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul Corona; a son, Joel Corona POW-MIA; her father, Conrado Rodriguez; her mother, Jovita Olivarez; and a brother, Pablo Rodriguez.
Mrs. Corona is survived by her son, Saul R. (Maria Elena) Corona, of San Juan; three grandchildren, Saul (Alba Lourdes) Corona Jr., of Austin, Michelle Corona (Rex) Costley, Joel Brian Corona, both of San Juan; two great-grandchildren, Madeleine Faith Costley, Elizabeth Marie Costley; and five siblings, Heraldo Rodriguez, Lydia Ramirez, Eduardo Rodriguez, all of Houston, Encarnacion Rodriguez, of San Isidro and Marcela Salazar, of Raymondville.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, March 10, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1 pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
