ERNESTO "NETO" DAVILA
EDINBURG - Ernesto "Neto" Davila, 89, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Jesus Maria Ranch, Mr. Davila had lived in Edinburg most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irma Hilda Lopez Davila; and his parents, Gregorio and Maria Davila.
Ernesto is survived by eight children, Diana Davila Moros, Norma Linda (Felipe) Acevedo, both of Donna, Juan Javier Davila, Anette Alda Davila Hernandez (Eloy Mireles), both of Edinburg, Israel Aaron (Lisa Salinas) Davila of Mission, Ernesto Omar (Dora Flores) Davila, Rolando Joseph Davila (Cristina Torres), Orlando Jesus Davila, all of Edinburg; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Davila was a rancher, farmer, and for over 40 years a produce broker. He was known for his work ethics, integrity, and honesty. An honor for him was being recognized in Who's Who Among American Business Men. He always said his best times were spent at the ranch caring for his cattle. He loved telling jokes, dancing, and traveling. He will be deeply missed by all of his family.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 13, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to IPH Hospice Care, Inc., Patricia Garcia, his private caregiver and Lupita Chapa, the hospice nurse's aide for their kindness and dedication during his final days.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
