Florencia "Memo" Davila

FLORENCIA "MEMO" DAVILA HARGILL - Florencia "Memo" Davila, 90, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 5, 2014, at her residence in Hargill. Mrs. Davila was born in Edinburg and had lived in Hargill all of her life. She was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill. Florencia is preceded in death by her husband, Sabas Davila II; a son, Alfredo Davila; and two sisters, Felicitas Benavides and Marcela Salinas. She is survived by seven children, Amelia (Mike) Arellano of Pilot Point, TX, Angelica (Ruben) Anzaldua, Adan (Mary) Davila, both of Hargill, Armando (Juanita) Davila of La Blanca, Sabas (Isabel) Davila III, Yolanda (Ricardo) Davila, both of Hargill, Gilberto (Josie) Davila of La Blanca; 26 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren; a sister, Andrea Salinas of McAllen. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, June 6, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
