Francisco Davila went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 9, 2022.
He was born on October 24, 1937 in Hargill TX to Sebastián Davila and Claudina Zamora.
On May 29, 1954 he married Marta, the love of his life, his best friend, his confidant and the woman he’d spend the next 60 years of his life with. They loved each other fiercely, deeply and unconditionally. He was a man of few words but meant what he said and said what he meant. He was humble, kind and rich in love. He loved his family, he loved listening to music, hunting and eating his favorite foods Cabrito, and his wife’s special tamales.
Popo, as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren loved them all in his own way. He always had candies for them in exchange for hugs and kisses. And, if they behaved good enough he would even reward them with rides on his walker. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Francisco was preceded in death by his wife, Marta G. Davila; parents, Sebastian Davila and Claudina Zamora; two daughters, Guadalupe Isabel Soza and María Griselda Lopez; three brothers, Esperidion Davila, Apolonio Davila, Roberto Davila; three sisters, Senovia Cortez, Maria Davila and Francisca Saenz.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Alma (Joe) Cuellar; son, Raul Francisco (Lisa) Davila; brother, Jesus (Marta) Davila; nine grandchildren, Bianca (Cristian) Hernandez-Rivera, Michael Cura Jr., Alfredo Saenz Jr., John Anthony Saenz, Aarón Saenz, Audrey (Juan) Davila-Lara, Brianna Davila, Sebastian Davila and RJ Davila; 11 great grandchildren, Axel Hernandez, Destiny Cura, Gael Hernandez, Ayden Saenz, John Anthony Saenz Jr., Aaron Saenz Jr., Aylani Saenz, Axl Lara, Santiago Rivera, Rosendo Rivera and Cristian Rivera Jr.
