ROLANDO DAVILA
HARGILL – Rolando Davila, 55, of Hargill, Texas peacefully passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas
Born in Weslaco, Texas, Mr. Davila had lived most of his life in Hargill. Rolando was a passionate, humble man who enjoyed truck driving. He worked as a Transportation Foreman at Rio Grande Valley Sugar Growers for 34 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren) and watching sports. He was a screaming Dallas Cowboys fan. Rolando was extremely loving and proud of his three children.
He is preceded in death by his father, Luis B. Davila.
Rolando is survived by his wife, Esmeralda Davila; three children, Daisy L. Davila, David O. Davila, Rolando Davila, Jr.; three grandchildren, Daniel Gonzalez, III, Angelina Davila, Denali Ortiz; his mother, Santos Davila; and seven siblings, Jose Luis Davila. Ernestina Davila, Homero Davila, Rosana Davila, Enrique Davila, Emadelia Davila, and Gregorio Davila.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
