Alma Diaz, 84, was called home by God on Friday, March 26, 2021, and is now reunited with her husband, parents, and brothers.
Alma graduated from Pan American University in 1957 and was employed as a teacher for over 40 years, ending her professional career at Edcouch-Elsa ISD. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be tremendously missed by all those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Abel Diaz Jr.; and her three brothers, Joe, Albert, and Alex Ochoa.
Mrs. Diaz is survived by seven children, Dahlinda (Arnoldo) Alaniz, Elizabeth Diaz, Abel (Norma) Diaz III, Yvonne Diaz (Gerardo) Morales, Vivian (Gabriel) Saenz, Michael J. Diaz, Eric D. Diaz; six grandchildren; and her sister, Beatriz Rodriguez. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
