GILBERTO T. DIAZ
PHARR – Gilberto T. Diaz, 79, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Santa Maria, Texas, Mr. Diaz lived in Pharr and was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Maria Diaz; two sisters, Nilda Cavazos and Dominga Aguilar.
Mr. Diaz is survived by his wife of 38 years, Josefina Diaz, of Pharr; seven children, Gilberto R. (Leticia) Diaz, of La Feria, Gerardo Diaz, of Victoria, Texas, Genaro Diaz, of Santa Maria, Texas, Maria Guadalupe (Alvaro Del Angel) Salinas, Maria De Los Angeles (Pedro) Ramirez, Veronica Diaz, Francisco (Percilla) Diaz, all of Pharr; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pablo Diaz, Maximo Diaz, both of Santa Maria, Texas; and a sister, Lupita Gonzalez, of California.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 26, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
