Jane K. Duncan, 87, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her residence in Edinburg, TX.
Wanda Jane Kendrick Duncan was born August 11, 1935, 20 minutes before her twin brother Bill, in Morris, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, to Dora Celia (nee Howard) and James Burl Kendrick. The family moved to Antlers, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma where Jane grew up and graduated from Antlers High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. While studying in Durant, she met Cecil A. Duncan of Edinburg, TX. They married on November 14, 1956, and immediately traveled to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, St. Mary's County, Maryland, where Cecil became a Naval Aviator. After the birth of the first of their three daughters, in 1958, they packed up and came home to Edinburg where Cecil joined the family business, C.E. Duncan Produce Co., and Jane took care of everything else. When the girls started school, Jane became a long-time substitute teacher for ECISD. She then started a new career in real estate with Carol Hill Real Estate in Edinburg. Jane found her most favorite job when Mr. Dub Bailey hired her as an outside sales representative for Gateway Printing & Office Supply where she worked for 36 years until her retirement in 2022. She loved her Gateway family very much.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Burl Kendrick; husband, Cecil A. Duncan; and son-in-law, Edward Earl Post.
She is survived by her three daughters; Arlene (Earl+) Post of San Antonio; Dana (David "Ronny") Villarreal of Edinburg; and Linda (Scott) Rogers of Lehigh, Florida; seven grandchildren; Azzalie Jane Post of San Antonio; G.A. (Erica) Villarreal of Spring, William "Billy" Villarreal of Edinburg; Alex (Olivia) Villarreal of Austin; Haley (Jeff) Lund of Lehigh, Florida, Holly Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Hope (Jorge) Herrera of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two step-grandsons, David (Erica) Villarreal of San Diego, California and Rocky (Belen) Villarreal of Edinburg; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, William (Charlene) Kendrick of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Paul Truitt of Edinburg; beloved nieces and nephews.
The family is eternally grateful to Dr. Melva Palacios and staff, Health Care Unlimited Inc., and Amara Hospice and staff; Veronica, Leslie, Sandra, Abby, Chaplain Hilda and especially Patty and Lupita for their loving kindness in caring for Momma in her final days.

A Celebration of Jane's life, led by Pastor Michelle J. Vernone of First United Methodist Church of Edinburg, will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
