EDINBURG – Osioni “Osi” Ebaseh-Onofa, 39, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Osi was born April 30, 1970 in Nigeria and had lived in Edinburg for eleven years. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Edinburg Regional Medical Center and at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Okoghogbeta Eture.
Osioni is survived by her husband, Dr. Benjamin Ebaseh-Onofa, who is a professor at the University of Texas Pan American; stepchild, Bridget Ebaseh-Onofa; three children, Christina Ebaseh-Onofa, Stephen Ebaseh-Onofa, and Danielle Ebaseh-Onofa, all of Edinburg; her father, Nathaniel Eture; a sister, Emamoke Animashaun; a brother, Jonah Eni; and eight other step-brothers and step-sisters; all of Nigeria.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Friday, July 10, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Wake keeping will begin at 9 pm Friday, July 10, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1600 Harvey in McAllen. Funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
