Eduardo Lopez, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Eduardo was a Catholic Knight of Columbus 4th degree. He served in the United States Army for 4 years during the Korean War followed by serving in the National Guard for 12 years. He also enjoyed BBQ's, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Macedonio Lopez and Felicita Ramirez-Salazar; and a step brother, Santos Salazar Jr.
Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Beatriz P. Lopez; three children, Eduardo (Eusebia Z.) Lopez Jr., Macedonio Lopez, Melba (Donato) Amaya; five siblings, Ana Maria Puente, Sofia Balderas, Santiago Salazar, Sara Contreras, Silvia (Walter) Watson; six grandchildren, Melissa (Felipe) Alanis, Eduardo (Heidi) Lopez III, Joshua (Nora) Amaya, Jenna (Gabriel Moyer) Amaya, Alexandria Lopez, Adriana Lopez; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post of Elsa 7473.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
