Ernestina Egly Vecchio

Ernestina Egly Vecchio, 79, died Monday, February 27, 2017, at her residence in Pharr.
Born in Pharr, she had lived there all of her life and was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vecchio; her mother, Maria Garza Rodriguez; her father, Benny Egly; a sister in law, Maria Lira; and her in laws, Francisco Vecchio Jr. and Cecilia Vecchio.
Mrs. Vecchio is survived by six children, Joe Vecchio, Sandra Vecchio, both of Pharr, Cindy (Rick) Ramones of Del Valle, Robert (Sandra) Vecchio of Mission, Linda (Fred) Attwood of McAllen, Trish Vecchio of Austin; eight grandchildren, Roxanne Ramones, Shelly Crawford, Daniel Ramones, Dennis Laughlin, Jason Vecchio, J.C. Attwood, Steven Attwood, Randy Attwood; five great-grandchildren, Celeste Alyse, Samantha Gutierrez, James Butler, Brady Crawford, Madison Crawford; three sisters, Kathryn Cantu of College Station, Janice (Emilio) Vela, Florine (Simon) De Leon, both of Pharr; a sister in law, Aurora (Ramiro) Ramirez; and a brother in law, Joe (Lydia) Vecchio, both of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 1, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place, at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
