EDINBURG - Elsa R. Elizondo, 74, began her spiritual journey on Saturday, January 29, 2011.
Mrs. Elizondo was born in Santa Elena and had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Rolando Ramirez; a sister, Elia Garza; and her parents, Enrique and Dora Ramirez.
Mrs. Elizondo is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eutiquio M. Elizondo Sr.; three children, Leticia Elizondo, Eutiquio (Anna) M. Elizondo Jr., Luanna (Frank) Castellano, all of Edinburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Enrique Ramirez Jr. of San Antonio, Romeo Ramirez of Edinburg, Raul Ramirez of Corpus Christi; and two sisters, Evelsa Requenez of McAllen and Elda Alvarado of Delmita.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, January 30, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, January 31, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hilario Alvarado Cemetery in San Isidro. Pallbearers will be Victor Elizondo, Simon Garza, Francisco Alvarado, Robert Elizondo, Javier Esteban Castillo and Frank Castellano. Honorary pallbearers will be Fortino Elizondo, Pablo Elizondo, Enrique Ramirez Jr., Romeo Ramirez and Raul Ramirez.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
