PHARR – Herlinda “Linda” Elizondo, 86, died Wednesday, December 21,
2016, in Pharr.
Born in Robstown, Mrs. Elizondo lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in San Juan. Linda attended PSJA High
School where she graduated in 1948 and was a member of the “Mighty Bear
Band”. After attending Edinburg Community College in the 1950’s she worked in the banking industry for several years until she married and became a full-time housewife.
She was best known for her cooking and baking talents and for always trying to help people that were going through hard times. She was the kind of person that many times found a way to help people in need by providing food and clothing especially during the holidays. During the last few years her passion became spending time with her grandchildren. She will be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Elizondo, Sr.; and her parents, Filiberto and Margarita Gonzalez.
Herlinda is survived by a son, Oscar (Olga) Elizondo, Jr. of Pharr; two grandchildren, Oscar “Trey” Elizondo III and Victoria Renee Elizondo; three siblings, Hortencia “Sandy” (Frank) Lucash of Reno, NV, Humberto “Bert”
