EDINBURG- Eutiquio Manuel Elizondo, Sr., 84, joined his wife in their Heavenly home on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
Mr. Elizondo was born in Delmita, TX and lived in Edinburg most of his life. He graduated from San Isidro High School in 1952, attended Texas A&M University from 1952 to 1954, graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Pan American College in 1956, and his master’s degree from Eastern Oregon University in 1972. Mr. Elizondo taught 14 years for PSJA Independent School District, worked as a mentor for ACT/RGV and worked as a consultant with Central Texas College in Killeen. In his free time, Eutiquio enjoyed gardening, hunting, loved antique shopping at the flea-market, and traveling. His charisma and smile will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Elizondo is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elsa Ramirez Elizondo; and his parents, Luisa and Victor Elizondo, Sr.
He is survived by three children, Leticia Elizondo, Eutiquio Manuel (Anna) Elizondo, Jr., Luanna (Frank) Castellano, all of Edinburg; five grandchildren, Javier Esteban Castillo, Celina Yvette (Robert) Elizondo, Lauren Michelle Elizondo, Stephanie Marie Elizondo, Caryn Ashley Elizondo; five great-grandchildren; Joshua Elizondo, Karissa Elizondo, Kalista Elizondo, Ethan Salinas, Christian Castillo; three brothers, Fortino Elizondo, Julian Elizondo, and Victor Elizondo, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, July 6, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg, 208 E. Canton. Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hilario Alvarado Cemetery in San Isidro.
The family would like to give special thanks to his care givers, Mrs. Rangel and Juanita for the love and care given to Mr. Elizondo, and Gracia Hospice for the excellent healthcare provided. Also, to Mr. Joel Tamez and family, owners of El Patio Cafe for their concern and attention.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
