Ernesto Avila, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Windsor Las Palmas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Catalina Munoz.
Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Minerva Avila; four children, Ernesto (Marisela) Avila Jr., Adrianna (Carlos) Rubio, Alejandra Avila, and Ricardo (Evelyn) Avila; seven grandchildren, Ivan, Valeria, Camila, Arnoldo, Alondra, Olivia, and Oscar; and four siblings, Rafael Munoz, Heriberto Martinez, Maria Borbon, and Rosa M. Munoz.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 8 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at 9 a.m. at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
