FRANCISCA ESCALANTE ALAMO — Francisca Escalante, 61, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mexico, Mrs. Escalante had lived in Alamo most of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eluterio and Guadalupe Isabel Garza. Mrs. Escalante is survived by her husband, Rafael Escalante, of Alamo; two sons, Javier (Cecilia) Escalante, of Donna, Eddie Escalante, of Alamo; three daughters, Idalia (Juan) Cantu, of Alamo, Claudia (Heynz) Liszt, of Pharr, Joanna Escalante, of Alamo; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Juana Garza, of Alamo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, May 19, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
