ALAMO - Arturo Escamilla Martinez, 67, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at Comfort House in McAllen.
Born in Los Ramones, N.L., MX, Arturo had lived in Alamo most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio Escamilla and Maria Luisa Martinez De Escamilla; and a brother, Gregorio Escamilla, Jr.
Arturo is survived by his wife, Aurora Marroquin De Escamilla; three daughters, Teresa Escamilla, Belinda Escamilla (Bernie) Cosme, Gloria Escamilla (Juan) Corpus; a son, Eduardo Escamilla; three grandchildren, Angelina, Magdalena, Cathalina; three brothers, Aristeo Escamilla, Abelardo Escamilla, Armando Escamilla; eight sisters, Gregoria Escamilla, Clara Suarez, Kathy Legg, Hermila De La Cruz, Sylvia Campos, Esmeralda Silva, Maria Graciela Guerra and Sandra Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 19, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
