Leonor Escobar Flores, age 89, went to be with our Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edinburg.
Leonor was born on April 11, 1933 in Rio Grande City, Texas then later moved to Edinburg Texas.
She enjoyed her life and everyone around her, she made sure to always live life to the fullest. She was a beautiful person who adored her family, especially her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leonor always enjoyed playing bingo “loteria”, painting pictures, and reading her bible. She also took much pleasure in raising and guiding her family with love and important values. Leonor was a very giving and selfless person who cared for everyone around her. She was a voice for those who couldn’t speak and an advocate to help anyone in need. She touched countless lives and was a very loving and inspirational person. Her contagious laughter will be forever etched in our minds. We love you forever and always.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilaria and Carlos Escobar.
Mrs. Flores is survived by her daughter, Rosario “Rosie” Palacios; three grandchildren, Federico (Erika) Palacios III, Cathy (Sergio) Rodriguez, Nicole (Orlando) Rodriguez; eight great-grandchildren, Lily, Ava, & Federico IV Palacios; Sergio, Gabriella Rose, & Matthew Rodriguez; Orlando, and Arian Rodriguez; a sister, Hilda Zarate.
The family would like to thank the staff at Edinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Leonor.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Monday, June 20, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
