MARIA R. ESCOBEDO
ALAMO – Maria R. Escobedo, 76, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Mrs. Escobedo was born in Dr. Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had lived in Alamo all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Escobedo; her parents, Jose Feliciano and Teresa Rodriguez; four brothers, Tomas, Candelario, Jose, and Ramiro Rodriguez; and a sister, Sara Ruiz.
Mrs. Escobedo is survived by six children, Juanita (Noe) Castillo, Simon (Carolina) Escobedo, Antonia Escobedo, Armando (Norma) Escobedo, Gerardo Escobedo, Norma (Petronilo) Estrada, all of Alamo; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Siria Rodriguez, of Illinois, Esperanza Torres, Maria Nellie Macias, both of Alamo, Consuelo Munguia, of California.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, October 11, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Iglesia Del Valle Santa Pentecostes in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
