MICHAEL JEROME ESPARZA
EDINBURG – Michael Jerome Esparza, 49, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Mr. Esparza was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Michael was a man with a big heart who loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his friends at BBQ’s and he loved meeting new people. Everyday for him was filled with a new challenge. Michael attended Edinburg schools and worked various jobs through out his life. Later in life, he struggled with complications brought on from diabetes. Even with the many obstacles brought on by his illness, Michael lived life to its fullest. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made along the way. We loved you Michael and you will forever be in our hearts. God Bless.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raul Esparza, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Willie Espinoza; eight uncles, and two aunts.
Mr. Esparza is survived by his mother, Jane Esparza of Edinburg; two sisters, Dora (Fred) Salazar of Corpus Christi, Texas and Becky Espinoza of Edinburg; three brothers, Raul Esparza Jr., and Stephen Esparza both of Edinburg, Larry (Yliana) Esparza of McAllen; an aunt, Estela Pardo of Wapato, Washington; an uncle, Hector Esparza of San Leandro, California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 16, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers will be Robin Flores, Rick De La Vina, Polo Carrasco, Perry Gonzalez, Eric Salazar and Jason Salazar.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
