MARCOS ESPINOZA
ALAMO - Marcos Espinoza, 83, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Mr. Espinoza was born in Alamo and had lived there all of his life. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Espinoza was employed by PSJA ISD for 20 years until his retirement in 1973.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clemente Espinoza, Gilberto and Concepcion Serna; a sister, Barbara E. Gutierrez; and two brothers, Gilberto and Trinidad Serna.
Mr. Espinoza is survived by his wife, Enriqueta Espinoza; five children, Gonzala Eracheta, Maria Del Pilar Garza, Rolando (Elizabeth) Espinoza, Armida (Roy) Gomez, Rosalva (Aaron) Garza; nine grandchildren, Marcos (Cindy) Espinoza, Izel Vargas, Jessica Vargas, Rogelio Gomez Jr., Andy (Yanel) Espinoza, Adam (Kathy) Espinoza, Felix "JR" Garza II, Froy Garza and Fabian Garza; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 12, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 3895 of La Joya.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
