MARIA AIDA ESQUIVEL
EDINBURG- Maria Aida Esquivel, 75, went home to our Lord Monday, October 8, 2018, at her hometown in Edinburg
Aida was born April 1, 1943, along with her twin sister, Dora, in Edinburg to Ramon and Amada (Navarro) Esquivel. Maria graduated from Edinburg High School in 1962. She was a lifelong resident of Edinburg and was known to her family and friends as “Aida”. She married Miguel Raul Hinojosa of Edinburg from 1967, until his death in 1980.
Aida is preceded in death by six brothers, Nasario Esquivel, Carlos Esquivel, Rogelio “Kelo” Esquivel, Alberto “Beto” Esquivel, Rudolfo “Rudy” Esquivel and Roberto Esquivel.
She is survived by two sons, David of San Antonio, Michael of Decatur, Georgia; a daughter, Melissa (Ruben) Zamora of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Arianna Zamora, Julianna Zamora and Kal-El Zamora; three sisters, Dora Salazar, Amelia Rios, both of Edinburg, and Berta Salazar of Castle Rock, Colorado.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
