Esther M. Jimenez

Esther M. Jimenez died Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 98 years of age. She was born on January 14, 1926 to Enrique Molina and Maria Rivera Molina.
She was the eldest of five brothers and four sisters and had resided north of Edinburg, in the Faysville area most of her life. She was a member of the St. Theresa Church where she served as lector and CCD teacher.
She graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School in 1944, and at age 22, began working at the Hidalgo County Clerk's Office where she served under eleven county clerks.
In 1999, Esther was presented with her own parking space for 50 years of service to Hidalgo County. She continued to work an additional nine years, retiring on September 28, 2007, after having dedicated a total of 59 years to Hidalgo County.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her young sister, Vicenta; her former husband, Cristobal Jimenez; two brothers, Moises Molina and Jose Oscar Molina; and her sister Olivia Ochoa and husband Hiram Ochoa.
She is survived by two sisters, Gloria Molina and Leonor M. Longoria of Edinburg, TX; and three brothers, Enrique Porfirio Molina and Jesus (Ester Gonzalez) Molina also of Edinburg, TX, and Leonel (Gloria Munoz) Molina of San Antonio, TX; sisters-in-law, Delia Alafa Molina and Juanita de la Rosa Molina of Edinburg, TX; as well as by many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, October 28, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at St. Theresa Church in Faysville. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
