CARLOS DAVID ESTIMBO
MISSION – Carlos David Estimbo, 84, went home to our Lord Friday, September 8, 2017 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Born and raised in Edinburg where he lived most of his life, then for the last 10 years of his life he lived in Mission.
Carlos graduated from Edinburg High School where he marched and played the Saxophone for the Bobcat Band. He would play his Saxophone at school and always drew a crowd. He then served as a private in the US Fifth Army. He was the 2nd to the oldest son and along with his older brother took over the responsibility of supporting his family after his father past away. He was not able to earn a degree due to financial difficulty but found his calling as a Commercial Driver. Most of his life he enjoyed driving the bus working for Valley Transit Company, Trailways Bus Line and finally Greyhound bus line where he retired. His love for music was so grand he was remembered as Charlie the singing bus driver. Always singing for his customers for their enjoyment. He was a person whom never said no to anyone in need regardless. He loved to entertain all, especially his children, grandchildren and all his nephews and nieces. He took everyone with him fishing, bowling, camping and swimming and made sure everyone had a great time. He loved and served the Lord with his huge heart. He was loved by many and will always be remembered.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Leticia Estimbo; his parents, Benito and Selerina Estimbo Sr.; four siblings, Nicolas, Danny, Belen and Elizabeth.
Mr. Estimbo is survived by three daughters, Norma Linda Estimbo, Nydia Estimbo, Celia Estimbo; eight grandchildren, Nichole Rose (Rolando) Renteria, Chrissy Mae Blanco, Rae Ellen (Hyrum) Bradshaw, Michelle Anne Kireger, Nydia Raquel Liandro (Josh Hinojosa), Charles David Lacy, Victoria Monique Limon, Jessica Brianna Limon; seven great-grandchildren, Avalyn, Amirah, Olivia, Zander, Gus, Charolette, Kristopher; four siblings, Emma Diaz, Benito (Ninfa) Estimbo, Delia Mejia, Velma (Pete, Sr.) Silva; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
