DR. GEORGE SONA EYAMBE
MISSION – Dr. George Sona Eyambe, 55, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cameroon, Africa, Dr. Eyambe lived in Mission for the last 13 years. He worked as a professor at University of Texas Pan American and was CEO of Basel Mission Home Health.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Mbella Njoh and Francisca Mayang Mboh Mokom; and his father-in-law, Justice Hans Ekortarh.
Dr. Eyambe is survived by his wife, Pamela Eyambe of Mission; six children, Gabriel Ekortarh of San Antonio, Emmanuel Ekortarh of Dallas, Joseph Eyambe of Taiwan, Sarah Eyambe, Efi Eyambe, Fese Eyambe, all of Mission; six siblings, William Eyambe, Harriet Chu, Thomas Eyambe, John Ngu Mokom, all of Cameroon, Dorothy Callis of Dallas, TX, Angela Woode of Switzerland; mother-in-law, Grace Ekortarh of Mission; brothers and sisters-in-law, George Ekortarh, Dr. Anncommy Ekortarh, Joseph Ekortarh, Anne-Marie Ekortarh, Christopher Ekortarh, Maria Ekortarh, Terry Ekortarh, Vivian Ekortarh, Emmanuel Ekortarh, Eric Ekortarh; 17 nieces and nephews, Linda, Victor, Franklin, Lydia, Musango, George, Mayang, Mbue and Dieudonne Eyambe; Tabogho, Maloa and Tabi Chu; Frederic Bopandani; Mayang, Atabong, Dibande and Kojo Mokom.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 pm Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
