MANUELA E. FARIAS
EDINBURG – Manuela E. Farias, 87, went home to our Lord Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Edinburg, she lived in San Carlos most of her life. Mrs. Farias was a Eucharistic Minister of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos and also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg; she had a very strong Catholic faith that she shared with others through prayer. Manuela was a giving, loving and caring woman who devoted her life to her family and to the Lord. Anyone who would visit her was always welcomed with her cooking. Her charisma and smile will be missed forever.
Manuela is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jacinto Farias. This Wednesday, she reunited for eternity with her beloved husband; a son-in-law, Frank Ramirez; parents, Isidro and Francisca Escobar; and two brothers, Bruno and Reynaldo Escobar.
She is survived by her son, Juan J. (Ruth) Farias of Edinburg; three daughters, Dahlia F. (Santiago) Alvarez of Edinburg, Diana (Marvin Wittman) Ramirez-Wittman of Fort Worth, Olga (Leonel) Rodriguez of Edinburg; seven grandchildren, Johnny, Marissa, Albert, Erica, Jennifer, Frank, Alex; two step-grandchildren, Fred and Dee; nine great-grandchildren, Katrina, Katherine, J.T., Klarissa, Noah, Adrian, A.J., Eli, Jenna; and one sister, Adelina Rocha.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, June, 25, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home (208 E. Canton) in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
