ANSELMO FIGUEROA
ALAMO - Anselmo Figueroa, 88, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Figueroa was born in Alamo and had lived in there all of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army (Private 1st Class), served during World War II.
He is preceded in death by wife, Santos Figueroa; his parents, Roman and Agustina Figueroa; three brothers, Miguel Figueroa, Ramon Figueroa and Jose Figueroa.
Mr. Figueroa is survived by six children, Anselmo (Irma) Figueroa, Jr., Armando (Angelita) Figueroa, both of Maricopa, Arizona, Adolfo Figueroa, of Ontario, Oregon, Belia (Juan Arce) Garica, Arturo (Norma) Figueroa, both of Alamo, Belinda (Michael) Walsh; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ignacio (Panchita) Figueroa, of McAllen, Hilario Figueroa, of San Juan, Pablo (Aurora) Figueroa, Domingo (Martha) Figueroa, both of Phoenix, Az.; two sisters, Elena (Reynaldo ) Saenz, of Alamo, Francisca (Jose) Solis, of Pharr; a sister-in-law, Gloria Figueroa, of Oregon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. celebration of life, today, May 1, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
