EFRAIN F. FLORES EDINBURG - Efrain F. Flores, 87, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg. Efrain had lived in Edinburg all of his life. He was born on April 27, 1927 to Guillermo Flores and Feliciana Alvarado. In 1948 he married the love of his life, Isabel Perez. They were married for 66 years and had five children. Efrain served in the US Army during WWII. He established and ran E. Flores Plumbing in Edinburg for over 30 years. After his retirement he was a volunteer for the VA Hospital System for 19 years. He was highly committed to his family and his church, El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Flores of Edinburg; five children, Lucy (Phillip) Norris of Arlington, TX, Efrain Flores of McAllen, Hector (Melba) Flores, Carlos (Sylvia) Flores, Nilda (Vincent) Cantu, all of Edinburg; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Eleazar Flores, Enriqueta Villafuerte, Enrique Flores, Elma Flores, all of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, May 30, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 705 E. University Dr. Edinburg, TX 78539. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
