After a wonderful life, Ermelinda Correa-Flores, 89, entered an eternal rest in her own home in Richland, MO on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Ermelinda was born on June 29, 1932, in San Perlita, Texas to Rafela Posada. She graduated from San Perlita as valedictorian to the class of 1953 to proceed her education at James R. Dougherty, School of Nursing, as a registered nurse. She started working at the State Chest Hospital in Harlingen, Texas and it is at that hospital where she met the love of her life, Ruben Flores Jr. They were married on May 30, 1962, in Fort Gordon, Georgia. The couple then had a daughter, Arcadia Flores Weslaco, TX, and a son, Ruben G. Flores III, Richland, MO. Whenever you had the chance to talk with her, she always had a new story to tell about her daily life or memories. She loved to bake and drink her morning coffee while completing a crossword puzzle. Like a true native, she loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play, both in her own home and at Busch Stadium. She was loving to all, whether you were a stranger or not and always welcomed people with open arms, treating them like family. She kept her faith in Christ throughout her entire life and would often pray with family and share His word. Ermelinda was incredibly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, including her family, friends, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and by her great-great-grandchild.
