GILBERTO "GIL" FLORES
SAN JUAN - Gilberto "Gil" Flores, 73, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at McAllen Medical Center.
Mr. Flores was born in San Juan and had lived there all of his life. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Erculana Flores; three brothers, Demetrio, Aurelio and Jose Flores; two sisters, Enriqueta Villa and Maria Gomez; and a dear friend, Aurelio Flores.
Mr. Flores is survived by his wife, Areopaja T. Flores of San Juan; four daughters, Nelda (Mauro) Leija of Alamo, Martha (Pete) Martinez and Diana Flores, both of Gary, Indiana, Elizabeth (Hector) Sandoval of Pharr; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Julia Smith, Dominga Loredo, Juanita De Leon, all of San Juan, and Librada Suarez of Alamo.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, July 2, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm, Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
