Petra Palomarez "Pat" Flores

PETRA “PAT” PALOMAREZ FLORES, 80, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Comfort House in McAllen. Born in Donna, Mrs. Flores had lived in The Rio Grande Valley most of her life. Pat gave her heart towards volunteering for much of her life in various capacities. She enjoyed photography, painting, rosary / jewelry making, sewing, knitting and was a founding member of the Diocesan Choir of the Diocese of Brownsville for nine years. Mrs. Flores is preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Elvia M. Palomarez, Sr.; two brothers, Oscar Palomarez and Norma Estella Palomarez; and her paternal grandparents, Faustina Banda Palomarez and Margartio Palomarez. Pat is survived by her husband, Lewis David Flores Sr.; a son, Lewis David (Melissa) Flores, Jr.; a daughter, Laura Belinda Merrick; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Kristine, Ashley, Curtis, Trevor, Brittany, Danielle; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Libby, Riley, Bennett, Wyatt, Hunter, Mikah; eight siblings, Candido (Elma) Palomarez, Jr., Julieta P. Soliz, Elvia P. (Manuel) Flores, Reymundo Palomarez, Yolanda N. Palomarez, Jorge (Nancy) Palomarez, Mario (Norma U.) Palomarez, Javier (Becky) Palomarez and various aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, August 14, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg at a later date. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg
