RAQUEL "KELLY" GALVAN EDINBURG - Raquel "Kelly" Galvan, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, April 26, 2013, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Ms. Galvan was born in Harlingen and had lived in Edinburg for the past four years. Raquel was a woman of great faith, strength and courage, who devoted her life to her daughters and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Israel and Rosita Cano; a brother, Israel Cano, Jr.; and her baby girl, Juanita Galvan. She is survived by her daughters, Mandy (Randy) Poplin, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Monica (Robert) Gilbert, of Edinburg; six grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Moore, Kelsey, Sean, Megan, Cameron and Tessa; two brothers, Eloy (Zulema) Cano, Sr., Rogelio (Isabel) Cano, both of Harlingen; two sisters, Rosa Elia Garza, of McAllen, Alma Alicia Howell, of Mercedes; sister-in-law, Petra Cano of Harlingen; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, May 1, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
