Hector Galvan Sr.

Hector Galvan Sr., 94, born on March 23, 1928, went on to be with our Lord in the early morning hours of July 23, 2022.
Our "Apa" was well loved by his family and friends. What a blessing it was to have him in our lives for 94 wonderful years. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Hector is preceded in death by his son, Porfirio Reyes; his parents, Benita and Macedonio Galvan; three brothers, Noe, Servando and Santana Galvan.
Mr. Galvan is survived by his wife, Elida C. Galvan; nine children, Diana (Abel) Cabrera of Bryan, TX, Juanita Gomez; Sandra (Felipe) Hernandez, Hector Galvan Jr., Mike Galvan, Norma Linda (Leonel) Lopez, Elida (Luis) Gonzalez of Edinburg, Alicia (Alfonso) Valderas of Mercedes, and Alejandro Galvan of San Gabriel, CA; sisters, Antonia Morales of San Gabriel, CA, Maria Socorro Reyes of Puerto Rico, TX; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, July 25, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Noe Lopez, Isaac Lopez, Daniel Hernandez, Emilio Flores, Luis Gonzalez Jr., Marco Gonzalez; Honorary pallbearers are Aron Hernandez and Arturo Gonzalez.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
