CAYETANO GAMBOA SAN JUAN - Cayetano Gamboa, 83 passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at his residence in San Juan. Born on June 9, 1931 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he lived in the P.S.J.A. area since 1972. He was a fun loving person who loved his family and enjoyed spending time making people around him laugh. He was often caught talking about his children stating that his greatest accomplishment was his smart, hardworking and talented kids. Always starting his sentences with "Mis hijos son....” We will all miss his famous Mexican candy and seeing him be the first on the dance floor. Mr. Gamboa is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evangelina Gamboa Jalomo; five sons, Miguel Angel (Rosa), Pedro (Diana), both of Pharr, Cayetano Jr., Martin (Maricruz), and Jose Antonio Gamboa, all of San Juan; seven daughters, Rosalinda (Roberto) Cano, Rosario (Refugio) Bustos, both of Albert Lea, MN, Victoria (Kees Rass) Gamboa of Rotterdam, Netherlands, Gloria (Martin) Santos, San Juanita (Alex Trevino), both of San Juan, Irene (Jerry) Noriega of McAllen, and Maria De Los Angeles (Esteban) Mariscal of Alamo. He was given the blessing of 34 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastor Asael Corona from Iglesia de Dios Paz y Gracia. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. We thank Destiny Through Christ Church for prayers and support. We request prayer for all of the Gamboa family as they may continue to allow the memory of their husband, father and grandfather live through them making him proud. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
