MARCELO GARCES, SR.
EDINBURG - Marcelo Garces, Sr., 78, died Saturday, February 6, 2016, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Mr. Garces was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza Garces; his parents, Epifanio and Maria Nieves Garces; and two brothers, Francisco and Manuel Garces.
Marcelo is survived by four sons, Abel (Criselda) Garces, Epifanio (Patricia) Garces, Marcelo Garces, Jr., Alberto Garces, all of Edinburg; two daughters, Norma (Hector) Jimenez of Napa, ID and Janie (Cruz) Vega of Edinburg; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 10, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
