EDINBURG – Ernesto Garces Sr., 75, went home to our Lord Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Aurora House in Weslaco.
Born in McAllen, Mr. Garces lived most of his life in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Julissa Rocha; and his parents, Rumaldo and Cecilia Garces.
Mr. Garces is survived by his three sons, Rene Garces, Ernesto Garces Jr., Eloy Garces; two daughters, Sandra (Jose) Cruz and Belinda Zapata; 12 grandchildren, Christopher, Christina, Steven Anthony, Felicia, Ashely, Desiree, Rebecca, Rene Jr., Lucky, Michelle, Melissa, Monique; two great-grandchildren, Roxas, Damian; and three siblings, Andrea Garces, Felix Garces, David Garces.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 28, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
