ABEL R. GARCIA
MCALLEN – Abel R. Garcia, 76, died Friday, May 27, 2011 in McAllen.
Born in Midlothian, Texas, Mr. Garcia had lived in McAllen most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Eduarda Garcia.
Mr. Garcia is survived by four children, Abel Garcia Jr. of Houston, Texas, Romie (Alvaro) Marquez of Chicago, Illinois, Isabel (Michael) Barreras of Edinburg, and Juan Carlos Garcia of McAllen; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Julia Marroquin of Mission.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, Monday, May 30, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran’s Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
