ARMANDO S. GARCIA ALAMO – Armando S. Garcia, 80, died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at his residence in Alamo. Born in Alamo, Mr. Garcia had lived there all of his life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Inocencia Garcia; a brother, Santos Garcia; and a sister, Estela Flores. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Armantina G. Garcia, of Alamo; a son, Rodolfo “Rudy” “Magdalena) Garcia, of McAllen; five daughters, Corina (Reymundo) Escaname, of Edinburg, Luisa Garcia, of San Antonio, Criselda Garcia, Mariselda (Juan Hernandez) Garcia, both of Alamo, Dalia Garcia, of McAllen; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Eduardo Garcia, of Alamo; five sisters, Roberta Garcia, Elisa Rivera, Herlinda Navarro, Elva Mendoza, all of Alamo, and Elida Lopez, of Bakersfield, California. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, January 31, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
