San Juan – Arturo Garcia, 47, died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Life Care Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Garcia was born in San Juan and had lived there most his life.
He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Melissa Garcia Guzman.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his former spouse, Sylvia Salinas Garcia, of Edinburg; two daughters, Allysa Nikayle Garcia and Kendra Marielle Garcia, both of Edinburg; his parents, Plinio and Maria Garcia, of San Juan; seven brothers, Plinio Emilio (Lydia) Garcia, Jr., of San Juan, Juan Angel (Elva) Garcia, of McAllen, David (Anna) Garcia, of Pharr, Gustavo (Gracie) Garcia, of San Juan, Oscar (Geraldine) Garcia, of McAllen, Ruben (Maribel) Garcia, of Edinburg, Noe (Claudia) Garcia, of San Juan; three sisters, Sylvia (Arturo) Perez, of McAllen, Thelma Martinez, of Alamo, and Marina (Ramon) Zenil, of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7:00 pm rosary, Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, August 22, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
The Garcia family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Hospital for the tender manner in which they cared for Arturo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
